Darryl Kotyk is an entrepreneur and proud owner of the coffee bar. He never liked working for others, so he ended up purchasing the coffee bar for himself. He's been in the foodservice industry for a long time and as an entrepreneur since 2011. However, he is not running the business only by himself but as a team, which is one of the key factors for their success.
“There aren't any big challenges, just little ones in the bar”, Darryl comments, and continues: “Consistently stocking fresh products and keeping our high level of customer service are probably the most frequent challenges”. On a normal business day, he takes care of all the behind-the-scenes things like marketing, purchasing, payroll, HR, and planning. His days are all pretty much the same; constantly promoting the business online, making orders, or picking something up.
Social media plays important part in their marketing
Daily Mudsharks use Instagram and Facebook. Next, they will set up Twitter for their business as a new social media channel followed by YouTube. Bar crew posts daily on Instagram and Facebook with most days having several posts.
Social Media Marketing is their biggest area of marketing by far. They feel that the best marketing comes from advertising where there is underpriced attention. Right now, that is social media. The only challenge with social media marketing they find is to be aware of the price per reach and to know what type of advertising grabs the customers' attention.

The coffee bar is aware of the importance of Google My Business too and they feel that the Google My Business profile provides great information for the customers. Coffee Bar has created their web pages with Google’s website builder and utilizes that when promoting the business on Google’s platforms. “It's easy to use and of course it works better with Google search as well”, says Darryl.
